The candidate will be exposed to the following areas working longitudinally in 2 rotations of 5 months with 2 months of electives.

One of the 5 month core rotations will have the candidate work in the areas of Withdrawal Management (Detoxification) at the Renfrew Detox Centre, Opioid Agonist Maintenance(Methadone and Buprenorphine) at the Calgary Opioid Dependency Program and Acute hospital inpatient consultation service with the Addiction Network.

The second 5 month core rotation with be at the Foothills Addiction Centre Concurrent Disorders Outpatient program and the Claresholm Centre of Mental Health and Addiction Concurrent Disorders Inpatient Program. The 2 month elective can be with Inner City Medicine (CUPS), Adolescent Addiction Treatment (Foothills Addiction Centre Adolescent Program), Chronic Pain with the Orion Health Canmore Program or the Calgary Pain Program (if available). Other electives as determined by the candidate can be considered and approved by the program director if it is related to field of Addiction Medicine.
