Timeline

Residents complete 1 year of training consisting of the following rotations:

  • General Adult Anaesthesia: 7 Blocks
  • Pediatric Anaesthesia: 3 Blocks
  • Obstetric Anaesthesia: 2 Blocks
  • Rural FP Anaesthesia: 1 Block

 

Evaluation 

Residents are evaluated by Daily Observation Reports and End of Rotation ITERs. The Daily Observation Reports act as contributing forms for the ITERs.

 

Application Requirements

1. College of Family Physicians of Canada Certification

  • Copy of CCFP or
  • Letter from the Family Medicine Program Director indicating current good standing in the program or
  • Letter of exam eligibility from the CFPC

2. Letter of intent describing reasons for application to the program, including evidence of interest in or demonstrated medical practice in remote or underserved locations. 

3. Current curriculum vitae

4. Current provincial medical college license or registration information 

5. Medical school transcripts

6. Final specialty rotation evaluations from Family Medicine Residency

7. THREE letters of reference, with at least one letter from a practicing FP-Anesthesiologist or Royal College Anesthesiologist
