Grand Rounds is a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) event that occurs the second Thursday of each month. The event is designed to promote Department of Family Medicine faculty achievements, provide opportunities for professional growth in various modes, and share upcoming and current professional development needs and ideas. Grand Rounds is video conferenced from the Health Services Centre PGME G43A to the three Calgary teaching sites - South Calgary Health Campus, Sunridge Family Medicine Teaching Centre, and Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre - as well as Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and Lethbridge Chinook Regional Hospital.
Fall Together is a Continuous Professional Development full-day event occurring annually in the fall, traditionally October or November. Fall Together provides a forum for professional exchange of ideas and breakout sessions designed to provide information on fundamental teaching activities such as learning through reflection in action, providing feedback, using assessment tools, accessing online resources, and leadership development; as well as addressing current and forthcoming needs of undergraduate, postgraduate, rural, and urban program preceptors in the Department of Family Medicine.
This CFPC accredited half-day CPD event occurs three times yearly - typically spring, fall, and winter. The event is designed to provide an opportunity for professional development as well as a session of shared best practices and idea for preceptor professional growth.
