Thank you for your interest in the Calgary Family Medicine Residency Program!

The UofC Family Medicine Residency Program only accepts applications through the Canadian Residents Matching Service (CaRMS)

Interviews

First Iteration Interviews are held on two weekends during the national interview period (specific dates will be made available on the CaRMS website for each application cycle). Second Iteration dates will be posted on the CaRMS program description if/when the second iteration process begins. 

Interviews are conducted by a Family Physician and a current Resident, taking approximately 30 minutes. A complete review of your file will be done prior to your interview by a separate individual. During the interview the team will have a copy of your application summary, personal letter, and a summary of items identified by the file reviewer for follow up. On the day of your interview there is an opportunity for applicants to mingle with current residents and staff. Spouses and partners are welcome to attend the information session. Food and drinks are provided.

Location
Interviews are held at the Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre, 3rd Floor 1213, 4th Street SW Calgary.

Traveling from the airport can take approximately 30-45 minutes. The Calgary international Airport website provides information on transportation options including public buses and taxis.

Socials 

The Department of Family Medicine hosts two social events on the Saturday nights of each interview weekends of first iteration (there are no socials for second iteration). The social provides an opportunity for applicants and current Residents to mingle in a causal atmosphere.
